Today is the second anniversary of the death of my grandfather, Reg Philpott.Grandpa passed away at the age of 89 years, after more than 64 years of marriage to my grandmother, Evelyn.
It's funny the times that I will think of him and miss him. There are still times when I have to pull myself up after thinking of something I want to tell him about.
I'd have loved for him to know about my decision to go to college. I'd have loved to have seen him with my brother's children who were born after Grandpa died. He would have been so proud to see how my grandmother has coped by herself. While she desperately misses him, she has chosen to continue to live life, even though she is now 87 years old herself. As she is currently on holidays, I can't speak to her to let her know that I'm thinking of her, as I know that she will be remembering today with sadness.
I thank God for Grandpa's life, for the man that he was and for the time I got to spend with him.
